New Brands

Friday, April 21, 2023

Since moving to Watford we have been in the process of of streamlining our products and adding a few new brands to our portfolio to compliment what we already have. Since the new shop is all on one level, for the first time we have seen all our demo stock and display in one place and it has made us re-think our product line up. Ultimately, we have sold through some Ex Display items to make way for some new brands.

Not wanting to compete against what we already have, we have carefully selected some new names to have out on demo, with the intention to add a couple more before the year is out. Our existing manufacturers all have new products due this year, so looking forward though the coming months and, in some instances, launched already, we hope to have some exciting new products to demo in 2023.

First up: The legend that is Technics.

Surprisingly, the first Technics badged product was a sealed box Speaker in 1965. It wasn't until 1970 that their, and the worlds, first Direct Drive Turntable was launched - the SP10. 2 years later saw the first incarnation of the legendary SL1200 that became the industry benchmark for DJ's and Studios worldwide. Technics continued to produce amplifiers, speakers, CD players and turntables that ultimately took them to mass market across the world. After a decline in presence through the early 2000's, Technics came back with a bang in 2019 and have gone from strength to strength. If it wasn't for stock issues through the Pandemic, we may of secured them sooner! We will be stocking Technics turntables and Electronics and we have already seen a couple of new products this year that will be out soon. Innuos

After finding more and more customers are looking for a CD storage solution instead of throwing away all their own CD's, we knew Innuos would be a great option. What we didn't realise is how good their control app is and what a pleasure it is to use! Any hard drive based system can be technically excellent, but if the control isn't there it can quickly become a frustrationg experience. Sonos might not be the best sound quality, but they have succeeded because the plaform has always been stable and the app is easy to navigate. Innuos take this to a whole other level sound quality wise. The MK3 Zen series boasts a choice of 3 products, with varying performance and Hard Drive configurations. Hi Res streaming is taken care of by Quboz and Tidal and you can also utilize the Roon specific mode if you want to use an Innuos product as a Roon End Point or Core, but you don't get to use their glorious app if you do that. Have we said how good their app is?! The new Pulse series takes the storage solution out of the unit and concentrates on the digital streaming side of things. A 3 product range, mirrors the advancements in performance through the Zen MK3 series. https://www.harrowaudiohifi.co.uk/en/search?q=innuos

SolidSteel

During our trip to Bristol, where every other room seemed to be using the Solid Steel SS-6 Speaker Stand, we got to see Solid Steels Hifi racks and were very impressed. The S2 offers incredible value for money, but the S3 series is where we were impressed most. The look and finish of these Italian crafted racks is excellent and the perfect partner to their speaker stands. With all the many variations available, we get them all to order, but we have a Walnut S3-4 on display so you can see how well made they are. The Raw SS-6 speaker stand looks amazing! https://www.harrowaudiohifi.co.uk/en/search?q=solidsteel

We are chatting to a few other brands currently, so will keep you updated as we go!
