Rega never follow the masses, they have their own design ideas and are one of the most forward thinking Hifi manufacturers out there. The Green Grade Eco Decks are a perfect example of trying a different method to deal with waste, and now with the Aya loudspeaker, we have a cabinet construction that isn't a man made wood, but doesn't compromise on performance.
It has taken 10 years of testing a designing to find a material that is as rigid as wood, but with out the rising costs and environmental impact. The Aya has a UK manufactured cabinet moulded from glass-reinforced cement. The glass fibres that make up the construction reduce the weight whilst increasing the structural integrity. At 14K each, they also retain the natural weight of a traditional speaker.
Thanks to the combination of the new enclosure and drive unit configuration, the AYA loudspeakers deliver a tight accurate bass response and the Rega signature midrange and detailed highs.
